![]() This is a free pattern designed by Megi Burcl. The mitts knit up quickly, look great and are so versatile. Sometimes it is nice to have one's hands covered but free from gloves. We have included the pattern here for you to download as we thought some of you might want to get a start on next year's Christmas knitting. LOL! ![]()
New classes are starting this month and next month. Please have a look at the classes being offered on the website page under Winter Classes
Audrey is a Needles and Knits customer and has been attending the Knit Therapy Sessions for a long time. Audrey recently discovered Fairgrounds DK at Needles and Knits Wool Shop. It is an acrylic yarn with the feel of merino and it can be washed. One would never guess it is an acrylic. Seriously! It creates a fair isle pattern when knit. Here are the six beautiful shades that are available. She purchased a couple balls of the Fairgrounds DK and decided to knit up a few cowls. They turned out fantastic! Here are the how to's for Audrey's Cowl:
One ball of Fairgrounds DK With 4 mm circular needle cast on 110 sts for smaller blue cowl and 130 sts for orange cowl (Audrey cast on 140 for the one she knit but thinks 130 sts would allow for a nicer drape). Place a marker at beginning of round and purl 3 rounds. Knit in the round until desired length but leave enough yardage to finish. Purl 3 rounds and cast off all sts. Sew in end Therapy Knitters Holiday PotluckTherapy Knitters Potluck brought together a gathering of knitters from various Needles & Knits knitting classes and workshops! Students brought mouth watering appetizers, main dishes and deserts! There was a sharing of recipes, laughs, opinions and of course, their finished work or work in progress. We are looking forward to another year of learning something new in the classes offered with another potluck in the spring :) Click here for more information about our upcoming 2017 Winter knitting classes and workshops Thursday Knit Nite Holiday DinnerDecember is the month of celebrations and gatherings of family and friends. On Thursday December 15, the Thursday night, Tea with Tove group braved the winter snow storm to attend the annual Holiday Dinner...and of course, to knit! From Needles & Knits, we wish all Happy Holidays and the very best in the New Year!
On November 24, Needles & Knits Wool Shop in Aurora, opened their doors to new and long standing customers to help celebrate the holiday season! The Holiday Open House was a great success, with lots of laughs, good food, drinks and many happy door prize winners!
